Class Management and Atmosphere.

II. Class Management and Atmosphere.

We do not have the same abilities, maybe I cannot sing but I can draw. There are some abilities which can be learned or worked on, but there are others that are already formed in our personality.
Those abilities that we have although there are few or many make us different and we can take advantage of them while we are teaching.
In my case, I know that I cannot sing, but I tried because children love to sing. Also, I do not like to dance too much, but a lot of times I had to do it, and it was funny.
Talking about attitudes, I have respected my students in every single class because in that way they also learn how to respect each other. Sometimes they didn’t want to share the things with others, but I taught them that is good to share our things with our classmates, or to help them when they need something.
Besides, I have treated all of them in the same way because in that way they don’t feel that I like someone more than another one. Show security also can help students to feel comfortable.
Well, I have tried to make a very good rapport with my students. I always smile when I arrived to the school. I let them huge me because I think it makes better our classroom atmosphere. The most important thing is to be yourself and enjoy what you’re doing. That really works.
I hardly ever made my students to work in groups because I noticed that they are happier working alone. They are sitting in small groups, but at the moment of working they do it alone. At the end they started to share what they have done.

We as teachers sometimes have to be actors and actresses, because our children learning depends a lot of our attitudes, the rapport, and so on.
I think that I am not a good listener, but this experience has helped me a lot to improve this area because when I am working with them I have to pay carefully attention to what they want to do or what they do not like to do.

My short-and long term goals as an ELT practitioner
Short term goals:
ü  To improve my English, especially my speaking and listening skills. As I said before I have some problems with my listening skills.
ü  To enrich my vocabulary, even though I am working with children this can help me to know some vocabulary that maybe I have forgotten.
ü  To gain more confidence, when I am at the front sometimes I do not feel confident enough, so I think that this experience has helped me a lot in this area.
I will do my best effort because I really know what I want to be and what I want to do.
Long term goals:
ü  To be a very good practitioner, I know that there are a lot of things that I will face, but by making what I have to do and practicing I will overcome all those situations.
ü  To become an excellent English teacher, someday I will not be just a practitioner; I will be a teacher. And I want to be the better possible.
Sometimes it is difficult to reach what we want, but I am sure that by working hard everything is possible.
