When things go wrong in class.
Which of these situations did you face in
your teaching practicum?
Describe what happened in and how you
dealt with it.
Well, I faced an external disturbance because one of my students went to
the cafeteria to but something ,but the problem was that he was running to come
back to the classroom, and suddenly, a girl appeared and shocked with my
student. I was very worried ,and all of my students were out of control. I
begged them keeping calm. I explained that it was an accident and that
their classmate was ok. Then, when he entered the classroom all the kids were
laughing . I told them not to do it. What I did was to start talking about
accidents and they forgot that situation. Fortunately, I could control that
situation, but it was a terrible situation that I will never forget. And also
we need to remember that any problem has a solution.
I think that the tips in chapter 8 are very helpful to put them
into practice. In an activity doesn't work, you as a good teacher need to have
a plan b. What it means? It means that you need to think on an activity that
fits ok with your students not with you. I had more than one activity prepared
because if one didn't work, I had another one instead of that. And also once I
had extra time, so what I did is to do another activity to cover the time, in
that way I didn't waste time.
